Shropshire Deaf Children’s Society Family Sponsored Walk 2023
Has your child benefited from the SDCS in the last few years? Would you like to give something back? Are you up for a challenge?
**Unfortunately, due to numbers, a decision has been made to reschedule the sponsored walk. Hopefully, a different date will see more people being able to join us to raise money for Shropshire Deaf Children’s Society which will enable us to fund future events.
We will be in contact soon with more information.**
On Saturday 22nd April 2023, we would like you to join us on a sponsored walk at Haughmond Hill to raise much needed funds for the SDCS.
This is an opportunity to ask your friends and family to dig deep into their pockets and support this fantastic society. Every year, we support children and young adults throughout Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin; by funding equipment and events for hearing impaired children and their families e.g. Bowling, Transition Day, Family Night, Pantomime and lots more besides.

This year’s event is a walk up Haughmond Hill starting at 10.00am. Three walk options will be available:
Corbett Easy Access Trail
This surfaced trail is through mixed woodland with frequent benches. Visitors with wheelchairs, mobility scooters and buggies should find this walk suitable.
Grade – Easy
Trail Length 0.75 miles (1.2 km)
Henry's Hike
This trail takes you across the central plateau of the hill taking in views of the Wrekin to the east. The trail has rocky sections and exposed roots but is mostly flat. Expect the trail to be muddy seasonally and after rain.
Grade - Moderate
Trail Length 1.5 miles (2.5 km)
Wilfred's Walk
This trail takes you through mixed woodland. This is the longest trail on the hill. Sections of the trail have exposed roots and rocks and some parts will be muddy, especially after wet weather.
Grade - Moderate
Trail Length 2.1 miles (3.4 km)
